I have just got in from doing a Car Boot sale at Pease Pottage and can definitely confirm it is a hot day!! I know this will not come as a shock to anyone who has been outside but it is all I can really think about. At 6am I was loading up the car in just a T-Shirt (Obviously and trousers before anyone gets funny.) and it just kept getting hotter. We had our daughter with us which just gave us an added worry, as we had to ensure she was always sat in the shade and topped up with plenty of water. She got sprayed down with Factor 50 sun cream so often I was worried when we put her back in the car she might slip straight out of her car seat but she was ok.
We were doing the Car Boot sale as we were just desperate for some space but even so I was shocked by how desperate people are there to feel they are getting a better deal, I had a Casino set that I have had for years, it was a really good set made of quality wooden tray/table which had Blackjack, Poker, Roulette etc.. all in good condition when I bought it the rrp was £40 as i really do not have that many casino parties it has never been used (Most parts of the set were still sealed.) Someone looked at it and after a few minutes offered us £2 for it, not the £4 (Which at 90% off is more than reasonable.) we asked for. We said how about £3.50, to which he replied £2.50. now neither my wife or I are natural hagglers so we just said no causing him to walk off and come back two minutes later to say "ok, £3.50 but I get a free carrier bag." this went on all morning as people were always trying to get the prices down but when you are selling a Filter Coffee/Tea Maker for £1 there is not that far to go.
At the end we only had a few things left and I thought about saying we could give them away but I was scared that someone would say "Pay us £2 to take them!"
