Longest Match at Wimbledon

Taking a break from Football and the world cup for a second there was an Epic (In fact Epic does not seem to cover it.) Match at Wimbledon this week. 23rd Seed John Isner beat Frenchman Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-3), 70-68. The match which lasted over three days had a combined on court time of 11 Hours and 5 Minutes and spread over 3 days. In the process they have set the record for The Longest Match, The Longest Set, The Most Games in a Set, The Most Games in a Match and currently sit 1st (Isner - 112) and 2nd (Mahut 103) for most Aces in a match. I would also suggest they hold the record for most records in a match as well.

For Mahut there is at least the knowledge that although he has lost he will go down in Wimbledon history, For Isner however he takes on Thiemo De Bakker in round two today who I would expect was rubbing his hands in glee as the match stretched on.
